Protest against electricity loadshedding in Pakistan

Although I must admit that recently electricity situation has improved substaintially .. like we have 1-2 hours loadshedding occasionally…
The Boycott of Electricity bill Nov 2010 against load sheding is also available on youtube.
But I know in a few parts of our country the situation is worest … so as a support to them I’d like to be part of this movement too … where we have decided that
” WE WILL NOT PAY THE BILL OF NOVEMBER ”
Its not a habit that i’d like to prmote , but this is one way that everybody can participate in & this has the potential to create some pressure on the govt.
However , I am always open to suggestions and always am in search for better solutions .. so this is not the end infact its the begining … lets discussion / brainstorm better solutions …
Cheers ,

WHICH IS LAPTOP MODEL IN UR LAP?

tirmizi bro .. nice way to protest … but don’t u know a lot of factories / mills have balance of wapda in trillions … govt would be raising electricity tarrif in the mid of this month .. if 25 % of Pakistan would pay, the actual cost would be adjusted and govt will have no effect infect they will get some more billions in their pocket from the fine amount .. rest you know where it goes.
@Sid // well the reason why I support this cause the outcome presents an oppertunity .. more then that the ease / convinience of participation … if you know we call for an outdoor protest many would be reluctant to join in …. but if we… promote this kinda step .. then many could take part .. and the impact could be at the root entity …
yes this is also true that it might not have an impact , but still I think this is worth the shot !!! rest like I said I am always ready to brainstorm / learn new dimensions to any given problem … so if you have any other solution / option in mind do share …..
I am also not going to pay the bill of Nov 2010. I hope this idea will work.
In my opinion…
I think people belonging from middle or lower class in our society….
not ready to follow this…..
hamari ghareeb awam bichari darti hay,,,,

Love it Owais !!!! Keep up the good work …
@ Syed Abdullah // aap apne abbu se bill pay karne ke liye pese le ke rakh len, or december ka jab bill ae to december ke pese le ke, dono mila ke bill bhar dijeye ga. Nov ka bill abu samjhen ge ke bhar diya he.
Tirmizi // thanks brother
@Owais // nice suggestion
// when there is a will there’s a way … secondly ..
@Abdullah … I 100 % understand what you are talking about and agree that we the “normal average bill’s paying , tax paying citezens” might not be up for such chagne” specially our parents who are part of the generation who’d just say “wh…at difference would it make” but you know our job is to try … so you and I have to do our part to the extent we can … ” many of you might not be able to go to full extent … but your efforts will speak ” and who knows if you try to make some sense … shayad woh maan bhi jaien …
OWAIS:Idea to fit hay…

@ Tirmizi bahi:
I am not criticizing but their’s Question // or you can say d/f point of view.
I think, thats not gonna effect them much as you know 1000′s of home’s & factories are running on “kunda system”. Moreover the political jalssa’s… by our so called leaders also use “Kunda” .
For one second, Let’s assume that it effect them. What are they going to do after it ? How are they going to recover the loss ?
I think, they are going to increase tariff once again. As their is only one alternative other then this i.e world bank // US aid.
It’s not that they will cut your electricity as you know “the kunda system” so their’s no point that they are going to cut your electricity but what they are going to do is; Increase the tariff once again and as you know their is a culture of no coming back for prices after climbing in Pakistan. It’s going to be a golden reason for them.
Don’t you think, this after-effect is going to cost much more sufferin’ ? If not to us then to those who use electricity for business ? What about that Iron man who have to pay more bill after it “/
I am not overly familiar with the fine details of Pakistan load shedding, but can I ask…the Kashmire Earthquake and this years Pakistan flood; what is the conditions of Pakistan’s Energy infrastructures? If these power distribution facili…ties are indeed damaged and/or in transmission recovery stage, would it be wise to not pay NOV’s power account?
Again, I don’t know..just thinking out loud.
jee.bhai bikul asa karna chayia yeh hamara haq hai……..
@Saad // well firstly its not that easy to raise the tarif … and it can’t be done that often .. and yes the kunda system karnay waloon ko farq dalna thats not our purpoes .. our purpose is not to bring those kunda people down , but to cu…t the revenue stream that these entities (wapda / kese / lse etc) are generating … cause even that money has some use .. once it won’t be available in same amounts then it would definatly bring some people to senses … and furthermore, its the people’s interest in such kinda protest that appealed me .. the ease of participation …. if we don’t do anything and let everything run the way it is then whats the point …
Rest like I said in the video I am always ready to explore different dimension and whatever I say or accept is not the end .. there’s always a better solution out there , we just have to think bit harder to stumble upon it …
Dost upload this video on Youtube with subject of “Boycott of Electricity bill Nov 2010 against load sheding (Pakistan)”
Our subject should be the same
@Nat // well the infrastruture isn’t repaired , the situation is not fully in control , but we’ve been facing this for a very long time now … and we’ve to take some steps to have our voices heard …. and this for now seems the right way … but its not the only way … so lets keep brainstorming …
koi faida nahi wapda ko kya asar ho ga
Rana Stop crying & just do your work forget about result
@Abid // done brother… edited details…
Thanks Bro

@ Tirmizi bahi :
On March 9, 2009. A guy named John Almany from Virginia paid his bill in coins // pennies, that caught the eye of International media. Don’t you think that’s going to be more effective instead of Boycott.

That all resulted in raise of tariff.
I think, in Pakistan it’s really very easy to raise the tariff because of no resistance. GOV is free, no opposition to give them a hard time.
I personally think, we should paint our meter blind so that no one can read the amount of units used.
Well, to satisfy ourself it’s a good idea. I personally am with the cause because I strongly believe ” Something is better than nothing ”
I am with you !!
:D painting the meter black !!! hmmm ! I won’t suggest that … still you know the defaulters will remain defaulters , Kunda laganay walay lagatay rahain gae … the govt. is least bothered about those .. or effected by those … cause the… bottom line is that they are just not paying … so we have to mobalize the one’s or restrict the one’s who ‘ARE PAYING” cause that will have some impact .. Rest … every campaign needs thorough planning , this one is more emotional based …. lets see how it goes ….. I have purposed some steps to few guys lets see the level of interest … rest assure I am always in for any positive initiative …
Me too !!
But when we are puttin’ effort and havin’ some responce; It’s time to hit harder, that’s only possible if it get organized because in end after so much noise you know very few people are going to Boycott it.
Why not give this campai…gn more momentum and make it work more effective.
My mind is stuck with the upcoming stuck so can’t suggest anything, but I know we got more potential of practical work rather then talkin’ so lets transfer that from cyber to real world. Don’t know how but as you know ” When there’s a will. there must be way ”
–> Yes ! We Can
How u said that loadsheding is improving gradualy…..is there any dam has funciitoning or any nuclear plant has going to work….what is the reason and where is exceeding the electricity…..unbelievable
@Iqbal // if you have listened to the context properly you must have known I said that its just 1-2 hrs occasionally here in Islamabad … so its improved this way .. from generation point of view yes its hasn’t … and believe me … as I have discussed it with insiders for the current demand we don’t need extra dams .. yes they are impretive for future but current need could be easily satisfied with current resouces provided we have the sincere will of relying on those …
Thanks for shaking hand for the issue, it is now our need to joint, I’m sure we can effect the govt and governance in peaceful way eventhough they effect us in disasterous way.
@Waqas // InshAllah
Yes you are right, electricity not going these days, i hope this stability remains.
I am with you buddy
me also with you mate.
It is very foolish that the protesting people are breaking & burning the vehicles of their own fellows and are damaging the public property …. If at all we must protest we must protest correctly.
Let’s tomorow get hold of some minister or the MNA whom we had voted into the assembly and put his/her home on fire. We’ll need to burn only one or two of them and the problems will start getting solved.
Let’s gather some courage and do the right thing and put some minister or his home on fire.
