Need to motivate yourself – Try this system (Part 1)

Life is full of distractions .. These distractions at times take us away from what we actually want or our dreams. Now dreams too the word (in a country like Pakistan where seemingly people feel that there aren’t that many oppertunities) sometimes seem unreal. But believe me they can come true provided you back up your dreams with a plan. Without that systematic plan of action those dream will remain dreams unless Allah has a miracle plan to reward you  ….. However, the general rule of thumb is Allah helps those who helps themselves …

Now when I was talking about systematic plan , that can help you achieve your dreams … and keep you motivated.

Before we go into the details of how to motivate yourself, this would rather become a long write-up ,  in this part 1 lets discuss what are the things that basically demotivates us ..

1-  Unreal Wants / Dreams.

2-  Present resources.

3-  No results.

4-  Peer pressure.

5-  Habit of giving up ….

Now without spending too much time on explaining them … let me quickly go through those so you can get an idea .. unreal wants (well to be honest if you ask me there is nothing that could be unreal provided you are committed and dedicated proportionally to make that dream / want to come into reality) are stuff that you might think is not possible and eventually you never persue that specific dream.

Sometimes the current resources prove a big barrier for you to start your journey towards your dreams / wants. but I’ll discuss in more details that what you have is sufficient.

Then even if you start your journey but after sometimes you don’t see things happening you tend to stop or get demotivated … then you have friends & family who at times are not supportive of your ideas or dreams and they try to force the so called reality to your face … so that again is one factor that stops you from persuing your dreams ..

And in the end this is a very normal factor that stops us from making our dreams come true … that is our habit of leaving things or stopping at things … Now its this habit that can sky rocket your chances of achieving your goals / dreams , now decide whenever you want to do anything be it big or small .. make a commitment to yourself that I will do it … and once you do it successfully , then you’ll get the additional motivation that what you plan to do you have the power to make that happen … So once you start achieving a few tasks , then you’ll realize the power and hidden potential that you had ….

In the next part of this motivation system , i’ll discus what is the system that you should pick up .. and how that could help in bringing your dreams into reality …

Do share your thoughts , be voacal , caues that is the first thing I did when I started my journey … and I still follow that ….. discuss stuff , ask questions … don’t just leave things or question marks in your heart ..

To your success …

Tirmizi, this is a beautiful writeup, and very motivational, but i would like to add one point to the 5 you have mentioned.
    6) weighing the dream.
We all have seen countless people dreaming of something that is simply useless, then going all… out to achive it, only to learn in the end, that is was benificial neither to them, or the people around them or their country.
Please all of you, whatever dream you see for urself, do consider your country somewhere in between.
Let me share, a little exprience, (tirmizi you are allowed to delete this if you find it useless) my father has been involved in the business of electrical cables since the last 30 or so years, after my education i joined him, but i always had a dream of owning a cable factory, rather than selling other peoples brand. I achived this dream two years ago, its still expanding and growing, however, what i did for my country was, i realised everyone was importing raw materials for cables from abroad and the ones manufacturing them here we doing a pathetic job, cutting corners and all. i got togather with a couple of such people, we started manufacturing the materials upto the requried international standard. I am happy to announce that in november I am sending my first export consignment of cables, that has been manufactured entirely using Pakistan made material. So weigh your dreams, wether that dream is useful for you and ur country, then walks towards it. I worked day and night for my dream, not a single penny borrowed from the bank or my father, made it on my on.

waiting for part 2 …… when its coming

  6. @Fahad // very interesting story and motivational too … and what you said is absolutly relevant and holds great ethical value .. our dream shouldn’t be such that it would hurt somebody elses interest .. and I won’t just put the country factor , it could be class of people , faith etc etc , so we should consider our dreams and choose the one’s which might not have any clash of interest with anybody else … caues if they do , then the devine intervention might not make it happen …

  24. Farrah Mazhar

good and practical I will try to practice this actually I start up many things enthusiastically and than leave them in the middle half heartedly .
I think I lack commitment to my creative self,Resources are the biggest hickup .
I always wish …,,when I will be free than I will write or paint and guess what I am never or if I am free I am just lazy.
This is demotivating me now.I have realised I would never be free like my student years but it does not mean I should give up my pleasures of writing and painting .

  25. Farrah Mazhar

Please do not let money get in your way .It is just an excuse I mean I always thought first I need that expensive artists kit or that lap top etc but I do not think it is essential.
When I wrote my first book I was neither rich nor had any c…omputer let alone laptop.

  26. @Farrrah // I am glad that this post have compelled you a little to look the factors that were stopping you from doing something that you love .. and I too felt at times that you should write bit more .. as to a few people , expressing the…mselves through writing comes very naturally , and you seem to be one of those people …

Anyways thanks for your feedback ….

  27. Farrah Mazhar

oh thank you so much for the encouragement yes I need to organise my
    free time.
writing demands a lot of time .
But I like your writing as well it is always thought provoking ,motivating and soul searching .
After reading your stuff I often sit… back and think on it

  28. @Farrrah // Thanks for the kinds words ….. I just hope and wish that I could make some difference in lives of others …. cause frankly I changed myself and in doing so I changed my destiny … and if I compare to what I was and what I w…ould have been … to what I am and what I could be … I thank Allah for showing me the light .. And believe me the journey just had me reading the right kinds stuff , and then impelementing them … so its those little steps that can bring huge change .. and I want others to realize that and change their lives and stop complaining …

  29. Farrah Mazhar

agreed with you .One thing which I learnt through reading books everything we read is not knowledge .
Only knowledge of right kind can help us and Self help is the best advice we need.As we growup in Pakistan and unfortunately there are not …many live discussions so I think your posts are great on such topics
Keep posting I am reading them.
