Youtube down after facebook. Whose Next ???
Posted on: May 20, 201056 comments so far (is that a lot?)
Following the Draw Muhammad (PBUH) Day protest after facebook its turn of Youtube has been closed till further notice too. Last night when I uploaded a video “Muslims Protest around the world on draw Muhammad (PBUH) Day on facebook” and the sort of comments that I started to receive I had a gut feeling that it was coming.
Now the reaction which seems justified too but I think we are putting the cart ahead of the horse. We should either come up with a machanism to block certian search queries or domain names then restricting the wholesites altogether ….
But Still the non responsiveness of those sites have in a way compelled me to support the whole protest too … they should atleast give out a statement … anyways I am with you Pakistani Govt. and support your actions this time …
Also it brings a question in your mind too ….
WHOSE NEXT >>>>>> ?????
- Tirmizi

myspace should be next. but I don’t know if they are actively supporting that damned event.
Its banned due to insult videos of Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H).
Gov should ban all sites having stuff like this.. including ORKUT, HI5 and TWITTER…YAAAAAAAAAA
Greatt… Whole Muslim Community should stand now!!! amazing efforts !
Hello, My name is danish and I am from pakistan, Karachi.
I see the Ban of youtube.com link with something different then you guys.
Hated for muslims, Islam, Quran,Mohammad, muslim world and muslim countries is a new thing on the internet, we should find such things not only on youtube.com but everywhere on the internet, like videos of hatred and text and so on everywhere on internet so Why only youtube.com.
The reason youtube has been blocked by pakistani authorities i.e On youtube.com there is a large collection of videos related to the Corrupt politicians of pakistan and after the election they came in power and now they are trying to hide their real faces from the local public of pakistan.
You guys should search ( BALAWAL BHUTTO ZARDARI ) on the youtube.com. there are some other videos on youtube which are exposing the real face of our polititians.
Anyways….I wish we will have a free media like western world somedays
…CHEERS…bah bye
Probably a really good point. Block the media for blasphemy as a diversion from blocking it from exposing corruption.
If it is true, one of the reasons can be Aitazaz Ahsan’s Geo interview, which is taking Pakistan by storm
It has nothing to do with the Geo interview..it’s the video mentioned in the link. It’s very offensive and utter crap. Geert Wilders is known to speak against Islam and Quran and has actually won a legislative post due to his anti-Islamic campaign.
The government really needs to get its head out of the gutter. This is the 21st century, and if they do not understand that censorship is history, then they need to be history.
I think the censorship is likely due to the MQM rigging video up on youtube ….they were always part of Mushi’s orgy.
i m very thankful to Wahaj-us-Siraj.n other Cooperative persons who take quick decision Against blasphemous content.
We were REGULAR Users Of Facebook and Youtube. But After This Disgusting content. At least me n my family wont Use these Webs “INSHALLAH”.i Request All Muslims we must have to be UNITED n Have to Fight With “KUFFARS” n i Request All Muslim Countries Internet Service Providers that Block All Webs Of “KUFFARS”
and I request All Muslims that we Must have to Boycott Of All webs Of “Kuffars” we have Power but we are not Utilizing Our Power. We can Dovelope our Platforms As Mailing,Chating, video sharing etc..We Are Giving Them Business with Using Thier Webs.If we will Create our platform They Bloody will face Big Loss..!
Think About It Muslims n Be United.
ALLAH HO AKBAR.
very sorry too. It sucks.
MY GOD! I AM REALLY MAD AT THIS REALLY!!!!!! I HAVE AN ACCOUNT THERE AND I HAVE FANS THAT WAITING TO SEE MY VIDEOS ……BUT ….BUT THOSE JERKS BLOCKED IT!!!! DAMN DAMND DAAAAAAAAAAAAAMNNNNNNNN
I dont care a sh** for flickr .. but youtube OH NO GOD!!!!!!…. there was a way to open flickr…do you know a way to open youtube ?? using the same thing????? PLZ IF YOU KNOW REPLY TO ME PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
thanks.
My two bits on what i think about etisalats reach campaign..
Etisalat. Reach out and kiss my A##!
Danish we all know about our politicians and no one is with them is their worst.
but the reason of being happy on this website banning that we all don’t want to be the part of anti islam events…
Now its up again and working, its no longer blocked.
I think such type of decision should be made by some literate person in authority who should know that such contents cannot be blocked over internet. Last time when the same thing happened, those idiots blocked the whole blogspot.com domain for around 2 months.
I hardly believe it’s due to the blasphemous movie. Govt ka deen se kia leyna deyna. Rigging could be the main issue. If not then wait for a while since out 3 or 4 only one movie is left on youtube. if they don’t lift the ban after removal of those movies then it must be a political issue.
just saw half of the video and safely turned it off knowing there isnt much worthy content afterwards. however, the video has actually boosted me so much to work more for our Muslim World, if we stand tall, they wont dare to even meet our eyes…
Keep up the good work ur doing here, this is the way to revive….
even if it is due to any reason ..youtube must be blocked for not taking an appropriate action. period.
who ever has done this shit plz remove it becauz we need youtube terribly…..plz unblock youtube because i am having a great deal of problems
Can anyone find out when was that banned video added on YouTube?
Because if it was added like around a month ago then the ban is clearly due to poll rigging videos otherwise PTA would have banned it earlier.

There is a plethora of websites (I’m not going to paste links here) out there which use explicit language against Quran and The Holy Prophet (SAW). Have articles that preach the total annihilation of Muslims etc. They were never blocked by our government and YouTube was, go figure!
A word regarding the anti-Islamic web content; I believe the people who put up such content are looking for a reaction from Muslims and when we give them the pleasure of reacting, they mock us for our “sensitivity”, “medieval beliefs” and “volatile natures” (case in point: the violent protests in Pakistan against the cartoons published by the Danish newspaper). These people are just bullies who are abusing the right of free speech and expression because they know no one can touch them.
What can and should we do about it? Maybe we should stop giving them the satisfaction of our reactions and they’ll stop?
its no big loss right for both pakistan and youtube. most of pakistanis are illiterate and youtube is not gonna suffer any losses if pakistanis dont see it. maybe you should block google n other search engines too. lots of blasphemous stuff there. google ‘muhammad cartoon’ under image search and u’ll see thousands of results. or instead just ban the internet for good in pakistan. its better for islam and the world.
hmmmmmm. now nice topic.

The posts, photos and comments, of which there are hundreds of thousands, range from the downright ugly to an amusingly creative Eminem-as-Mohammad stage shot with the Slim Shady parody caption, “Will the real Mohammad please stand up, please stand up!” The many passionate and heated posts and comments from both sides are raging in what could accurately be called Liveleak-like “extreme free speech” fashion. Lots of self-censoring going on these days regarding Mohammad, as happened on South Park recently. On that note, the Pakistani government has blocked Facebook over ‘Everybody Draw Mohammad Day.’ ……. selection from a news.
Pakistan was outraged by this day of prophetic caricature. According to the Los Angeles Times, a court in Lahore, Pakistan, ordered the government to ensure that the country’s Internet service providers were blocking access to Facebook, the world’s most popular social-networking website. In the capital, Islamabad, the site was shut down as of early Wednesday evening. If you want more background for perspective that covers EDMD, read an editorial touching on this very subject: “Distinguishing Muslims from Islamists.”
love islam love pakistan
Should we sympathize with Seattle cartoonist Molly Norris? What was once sketched out as a goof in response to the South Park Mohammad censorship has now become the inadvertent driving of a free speech dynamite truck into a cultural nitroglycerin warehouse.
She, the cartoonist said she’s received about 200 depictions of Muhammad, and more than 300 caricatures have been uploaded to her page. She said she plans on continuing the campaign well after this week.
“Free speech and the rights guaranteed by the Constitution are not limited to just one day — so as far as we are concerned, every day should be ‘Draw Muhammad Day,’” she wrote.
But they won’t be celebrating in Pakistan, where a court on Wednesday ordered the government to block Facebook pages associated with the campaign until May 31. Muslims consider any depiction of the Prophet Muhammad to be blasphemous, and it is a crime punishable by death.
“The court also has ordered the foreign ministry to investigate why such a competition is being held,” Azhar Siddique, a representative of the Islamic Lawyers Forum who filed a petition in the Lahore High Court, told Reuters.
“Now a days it has became a fashion for the west to irk muslims,” one post read. “We never scolded jesus for ur misdeeds. That shows the difference of character.”
A Facebook spokesman told FoxNews.com it has no plans to censor any of the pages associated with the campaign or the counter-campaign, though threats will be removed.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm really in fox news i read
“Threats of violence and direct statements of hate against particular communities violate our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities and are removed when reported to us,” reads a company statement to FoxNews.com. “Facebook is highly self-regulating, and users can and do report content that they find questionable or offensive. Groups that express an opinion on a state, institution, or set of beliefs — even if that opinion is outrageous or offensive to some — do not by themselves violate our policies. When a group created to express an opinion devolves into threats or hate speech, we will remove the threatening or hateful comments and may even remove the group itself.”
Matthew Quigley, a member of the “Everybody Draw Mohammad Day” group, said he joined the cause after Comedy Central censored “South Park,” which happened after a message on RevolutionMuslim.com warned that the cartoon’s creators “will probably end up” like Theo van Gogh, a Dutch filmmaker who was murdered after releasing a film critical of Islam.
Quigley, who has already uploaded his depiction of Muhammad, said he’s pleased to see the solidarity behind the cause.
“My depiction featured Muhammad staring blankly at what I imagine were the open expanses on the road between Medina and Mecca,” Quigley wrote.
“Above him, in Arabic script are the words that all Muslims speak after saying his name: Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam (“May God’s Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him”). Below, in Arabic, is the phrase, ‘I Love Hummus.’ I think we can all connect more with a man if he likes our favorite food.”
now u see… in all these situation where our beloved hazrat muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam is being exploited continuously ..these non-muslims say us not to react…….. how disgusting n how ridiculous
Fida Gul, a lawyer who campaigned to get Facebook banned in Pakistan said: “We needed to provide a message to non-Muslims not to disrespect our prophet. I am grateful to the High Court judges for this verdict.”
i cant express my feelings over this great step of our govt…… my eyes are full of tears.
tirmizi u r a great man bhai. Allah tumhen hamesha apne hifz o amaan men rakhe..or hamesha tumhen tumharey maqsad par qaim rakhe or sehat o tandrusti dey… ameen.
i think utbe is the nxt.. agar sbaq nai seekha to
YOUTBE KI BAARI HA AB.
YAR NOT ONLY CONGRATES ON THE STEP TAKEN BY OUR GOVT.. ALSO CONGRATS TO TURKISH MUSLIMHACKERS WHO HACKED THAT NASTY PAGE..
MYSPACE
we shud use the sites made by muslims.
The page on the social networking site has generated criticism in Pakistan and elsewhere because Islam prohibits any images of the prophet. The government took action after a group of Islamic lawyers won a court order Wednesday requiring officials to block Facebook until May 31…..
balley balley……. jo hum se takrayega…. pash pash ho jaega
ab to yar kisi ki himmat ni honi chahie
u know ppl…In the southern city of Karachi, about 2,000 female students had rallied demanding that Facebook be banned for tolerating the page. Several dozen male students held a rally nearby, with some holding signs urging Islamic holy war against those who blaspheme the prophet.
